The Voice of Innovation

Owning the Narrative: Flying Cork Media & George Davison Studios
A great idea requires a great story. The Davison ecosystem includes a strategic communications superstructure designed to shape public perception, establish thought leadership, and drive engagement. Flying Cork Media, consistently ranked as a top-ten advertising agency in Pittsburgh and recognized by Inc. 5000 as the region’s fastest-growing company in 2014, serves as the strategic marketing arm.1
Complementing this is George Davison Studios, a premier international production company located within the Inventionland facility. Boasting one of the largest green screens in Pennsylvania and a full suite of state-of-the-art production equipment, the studio produces all of the ecosystem’s flagship content, from television series to digital media, ensuring a consistent standard of excellence in storytelling.1
Global Platform: Tomorrow's World Today Television Series

The flagship media property is Tomorrow’s World Today, an Emmy-nominated television series that George Davison created, hosts, and executive produces. Airing on Warner Discovery’s Science Channel and The Discovery Channel, the show explores the forefront of global advancements in technology and sustainability.1 By featuring collaborations with industry giants such as Microsoft, Exxon, and Toyota, the series has established itself as a credible and influential platform, shaping the global conversation on innovation.1 The show’s mission is structured around four thematic lenses—Inspiration, Creation, Innovation, and Production—which connect directly back to the ecosystem’s core philosophies and bring complex scientific topics to a broad audience.1
Thought Leadership in Action: The Tomorrow's World Today Podcast
The Tomorrow’s World Today podcast serves a critical dual function within the ecosystem, acting as both a high-level thought leadership platform and a direct content pipeline for the educational curriculum. As host, George Davison engages in substantive conversations with CEOs, researchers, and influential leaders from the world’s most innovative companies, including Caterpillar, Idaho National Laboratory, Microsoft, and The J. M. Smucker Co..8 These interviews position him as a peer and a central node in the global innovation community.

Crucially, these conversations are more than just content; they are the foundation of a living curriculum. Insights from these global leaders are distilled into case studies, lesson plans, and project-based learning modules for Inventionland Education students.2 This provides students with unparalleled, real-time access to the minds and ideas shaping tomorrow’s world. This synergy creates a powerful, self-reinforcing flywheel: the high-quality media attracts high-profile guests, whose insights create a premium and differentiated curriculum. This unique curriculum, in turn, attracts more schools, which increases the brand’s prestige and makes it easier to book even more influential guests. This model ensures the educational content remains perpetually relevant, offering a significant advantage over static, textbook-based learning.

Empowering Other Voices: Dorrance Publishing

The principle of storytelling extends beyond Davison’s own narrative. The acquisition of Dorrance Publishing, founded in 1920, was a strategic move to empower other creators. Under his leadership, Dorrance has been reinvigorated to provide a modern, accessible platform for authors to share their stories, democratizing the publishing process and reinforcing the ecosystem’s commitment to giving every great idea a voice.1
Foundational Narratives:
The Adventures of Chipper Cloud
The ecosystem’s ethos is introduced at the earliest stage through The Adventures of Chipper Cloud. This children’s book is the foundational text for teaching resilience, optimism, and the power of ideas. The character of Chipper Cloud is woven into the Inventionland Education elementary school curriculum, serving as the first touchpoint for inspiring the youngest generation of innovators

The Inventsons
The Inventsons are a family of super-geniuses, each bringing their unique skills to the table as they continue to protect their town of Inventionland. The family consists of three kids- Sue, Walt, and Jesse- as well as their grandfather, whom they affectionately nickname ‘G’. The villain of the story, Balzer, holds a grudge against ‘G’ from their college years and makes it his life mission to undermine ‘G’ and the Inventson kids by wreaking havoc on Inventionland.
Besides a great story, The Inventsons also provides kids with fun activities, such as building a compass, making a paper airplane, or even drawing the characters. This is just the beginning for the Inventsons, with more adventures to come. The Inventsons are the cornerstone of Inventionland Education’s Middle School curriculum, educating young minds about Inventing, Teamwork, and overcoming challenges and naysayers to solve problems.
